Digital Horror: Rebirth of Creepypasta
Today we'll be discussing the history and evolution of Creepypasta, from its origins in the 80s and 90s, to its disappearance in the late 2010s, to its recent 'rebirth'... but was it ever really gone? And what really makes something a 'Creepypasta'? I'll be attempting to answer those questions, as well as discussing and analyzing some modern Digital Horror web-series which seem to take special inspiration from the Creepypasta of generations past.

Today we'll be talking about some more 'unfiction' series, but things are going to be a little bit different. They're not all spooky; instead, I've gathered together some different channels that tell their stories through a mix of comedy, irony, and yet at the same time, have a real heart to them. From Alantutorial to The Stockroach, this is a big one. Back to the spooky stuff soon though! Stre...
The Disturbing Development of a Haunted Game...

Today we'll be diving into the Basilisk video games; two incredibly detailed 'unfiction' projects created by Kira LLC, giving a behind the scenes look at two pieces of video game 'lost media.' There is more than meets the eye within, and the story of the (fictional) development team behind these retro games may be more horrific than the desperate famine within the games. Today we'll be analyzing AI Builds, and Sheriff Domestic, and explaining how Petscop influenced the 'The Game I Found' subgenre. We'll also be discussing originality in art, and how it connects to Analog Horror. Can a parody, or a 'copy' ever be something more than the sum of its parts? This is a fantastic video. I do hope when Act 2 finishes that this channel covers it.

Ok call me crazy but I swear to God sonics eyes changed.

Can you change the darkness levels? What if you just set the final boss darkness to zero?
1:21:39 is that jerma on the bottom left on the mac?
Hopefully someone can make a hello neighbour remastered game
I had a sneaking suspicion the basilisks referred to a thought experiement of "Rocco's Basilisk" or something along those lines.
13:21 i'm watching this vid with my cat sitting in my lap and just the NOISES from this clip made her perk up like "wtf?". AND THEN THE CAT WALKED IN FRAME. my cat went nuts. plot twist of the century, f a creepypasta
Referencing DLC in a supposed 2000s game is... odd. Kinda took me out of the immersion tbh.
Who wants to include elements of revelations in their horror series? ✋✋✋ Who wants to include the part about the beast getting decapitated by Michael, the Archangel of war? ….. Edit: might be wrong, haven’t finished the video yet
walking simualtor brimstone coal
Carmen Winstead mentioned‼️‼️
So glad someone else is talking about the inherent horror if being young online that We’re All Going to the World’s Fair displays. It made me feel a deep guttural emotion I have never felt before.
So my gf and I only heard the bisected king as The Bisexual King and I think that made the video S tier
like ten years ago I needed help running a computer application so I called up a helpdesk. The guy was nice and he took control of my mouse using LogMeIn to get it up and running. well...I forgot to close out the creepypasta wiki tab and he saw it and opened it. He said "oh man, you like creepypasta too? wicked!" and then closed out the tab for me. To this day that is probably the most creepypasta thing to ever have happened to me
ChainmailChasers is just incredible. The depth is legitimately mind-blowing
Level 15: "None of the corpses have fire arms, but there's clear evidence of gunshot wounds". Yeah, the people with the guns won the fight. The footage for Level 18, the floor for the first room layout looks like one of those "creepy" Mario 64 images, with the room that doesn't exist, made for the "every copy is personalized" ARG. I don't remember the exact name of the room or who made it, but it's a popular image. Level 27's secret seems to have been edited in all recent versions of the page that are accessible after this video went up. It was basically just a stinger saying "Don't enter the other waterfall cave, or you end up in Level 28". Since posting this video, Levels 26 and 85 have had their entries removed from canon and are open to new writing. Reportedly, Level 27 also used to be something called "The Woodrooms", and was then changed to Bunker Springs after enough Negative Votes led to the entry being deleted. I really enjoyed this video, and would like to see this continued. You have a great narration voice, and I find the Backrooms fascinating.
You’re videos are amazing thank you for working so so hard on them!
Your videos are addictive
what is the song in the opening?????
I remember when I was like 10 I watched some creepypasta channel cover Smile Dog, and at the end, he showed the image, and I was so scared of dying that I had a panic attack. Fun times
I just want to commit and say how thrilled I was to sit down and watch this video. It was absolutely amazing and exposed to to some new channels that I had no idea about! Growing up, I used to adore creepypasta as a kid, and now that I'm older, I feel very drawn to analog horror and the stories that unfold with it. It has been a wonderful nostalgia trip to see Creepypasta revamped and shown a new sense of love. Obviously, the creepypasta fandom was far from perfect, and not everything written was gold. But I'm glad to see that people are still doing their best and pouring love into these projects, whether it's reintroducing an old story, or developing a new one altogether. Your video essay was a wonderful watch, and extremely thought-provoking. It was incredible to see both an analysis of some of these channels and a breakdown of creepypasta itself and its history. I've had similar ideas about analog horror and creepypasta's connection, and it's thrilling to see it discussed in such detail. You did such a wonderful job, and I can't wait to share this video with all my friends! You are an absolute delight, and I thank you for making my night filled with joy!
I was looking up .50cal Barrett sniper rifles when I was a kid, and for whatever fucking reason, Google decided to show me an Afghan dude who got domed by one. So, now I know what that looks like. Forever.
There are very few horror creations that I enjoyed less than Chainmail Chasers. I thought it was awful. Also, anything based off of Slender man that's not Marble Hornets or Everyman is trash.
at the 14 minute mark footsteps actually scared tf outta me
I rewarched your first yt video available on your channel, nice progression brother
Good video how you update the interloper suff
45:08 JK Rowling said nothing wrong pimpin. She simply spoke biological truth.
ive just noticed in the first episode when the notebook is talking about her hair red guy says that sounds really boring. then when red guy has the office job and is talking about what if the file came to life and sang a song the other red guy says that sounds really boring.
Dang dude i really enjoyed this. Thanks! Starting off with Morley Man was a great hook
I am actually very thankful for the protective wizard spell. I am rarely bothered by this nowadays, but i used to be very affected by "curses" and such, even if I knew it was fake. I remember being terrified that I was gonna die by the unsound in the black tapes podcast even though I must have been around 16/17 then.
I always laugh when someone says 'X is dead'. You cannot kill an idea. Things may recede for a bit as in become less popular, or as is said here they may change their form, but you cannot be rid of them entirely; especially on a place like the internet.
53:32 i like that for duck the qualifications for being a family is living together and having the same lawyer
Bro really jumpscared us at the end 💀
Don't worry you can always hide in the comments. Here have some pizza and cookies 🍕🍕🍪🍪.
I remember that Night Mind had proposed a challenge to the creator back in the day to release an episode by april 1st. And then they did it, posting the entire finale or something. It's been like 6 years, it's hard to remember. But I remember how that bummed me out so bad, that I hate petscop for a while because it felt so rushed and not as qell executed as the previous videos. I still stand by that, despite getting over that event now
that intro opening sequence if straight up a banger
Don't use God's name in vain tho😁🙏❤️
16:44 it reminds me of Rokos Basilisk. The theory that it'll kill everything that refused to help make it but what if it runs out of people to kill, will it end up killing itself?
1:49:01
The fact that Creepypastas are being described as a "bygone genre" is making me feel old.
I would love these as full games ngl
This was insanely high quality. Nice job dude.
7:30 a tree is blurry as well as the kid's face, is it like, censoring slender? edit: it was mentionned nvm
This video rules. One thing that always bothers me- I was a frequenter of /x/ in 2007-14. I'm convinced that the bathrooms as an idea popped up back then.
